Cleaning

How should post-construction cleaning be organised?

Schedule cleaning after the last dust-producing work, separate waste removal from cleaning, and specify the surfaces, glazing, equipment and finishes to be treated.

How should post-construction cleaning be organised?

Choose the right time

Final cleaning should begin once work producing dust, sawdust, plaster or residues has finished. Cleaning too early often results in a second visit.

Separate waste from cleaning

Rubble, packaging, material offcuts and removed equipment must be disposed of according to the applicable rules. This task should be clearly separated from cleaning surfaces.

Clean from top to bottom

Dusting starts with high areas, light fittings, joinery and vertical surfaces before sanitary fixtures, glazing and floors. Products must be suitable for the new materials.

Define the required finish

Specify whether the property must be ready to occupy, present, let or hand over. Surface area, access, remaining protection and specific marks all affect the estimate.
